Dr. Vesna Dimitrievska
Prof. Dr. Vesna Dimitrievska was born in 1960 in Tetovo. She graduated (1984) and received her master’s degree (1993) at the Faculty of Law at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius ”in Skopje. In 1986 she was employed at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje as a junior assistant at the Institute of Sociology. She defended her doctoral dissertation on “Causes and Social Consequences of Poverty in the Republic of Macedonia” in 2002 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, earning her the title of Doctor of Sociology. Since 2013 she is a full professor at the Institute of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje.
In the current teaching-educational and scientific-research activity, prof. Dimitrievska was a mentor and member of diploma, master and doctoral theses, textbook reviewer and participated in many national and international scientific projects. In 2005 she was the Deputy Head of Postgraduate Studies at the Institute of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy; from 2005-2007 was a member of the commission for scientific research work at the Faculty of Philosophy; since 2007 was a member of the Council for Statistics R. Macedonia; from 2011-2014 is the President of Association of Sociologists of Macedonia.
Research interests: scientific research work, research methods and techniques, social stratification, social inequalities and poverty, quality of life.
