Dr. Nikolina Kenig
Prof. Dr. Nikolina Kenig was born on December 19, 1968 in Skopje. After completing her studies in psychology, she received a Master’s degree in International Peace Studies (1994) from the University of Notre Dame (Kroc Institute, University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA), and then Social Psychology (2000) from the Faculty of Philosophy at Ss.„Cyril and Methodius”.She defended her doctoral dissertation “Hofstede’s Model of Cultural Dimensions: Possibilities for Measurement in Group and Individual Context” in 2006 at the same faculty, earning her the title of Doctor of Science in Psychology. Since 2016 she is a full professor at the Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje.
She has won the Manning Award for Best Student in Social Sciences, as well as several scholarships that provided her with longer study stays and visits to foreign universities such as ESADE in Spain and Arizona State University in the United States.
Since 1997, as a researcher, and later as a member of the Board of Directors, she has been actively cooperating in the Center for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution. Since 2010 she is a member of the Erasmus Children’s Identity and Citizenship in Europe (CICE) academic network. From 2013-2018 she was the head of the doctoral studies at the Institute of Psychology, and since 2015 she has been the President of the Ethics Board of the Chamber of Psychologists of the Republic of Macedonia.
Research interests: gender, gender-based violence, sex education, multiculturalism, ethnic identity
